another awesome stumble find! I find this .. i hate to say it, but nifty is an awesome word that works here. This guy apparently writes, well, maybe discovers would be a better word, creates, poetry from newspaper articles by blacking most of it out and only leaving certain words. yay serendipity!

~Random: Non-treadmilled reading: Girl, interrupted. Trying to work on my non-fiction piece this week, so it was a good read to finish this week. I would describe it as a memoir, a series of stories and memories that she has about being at the mental asylum. Completing interesting from a writing and psychological point of view (although apparently it shouldn’t count as studying for a psych test 
) anyways, to the treadmilling!

3) a few Neil Gaiman books that I borrowed from a friend. Then a break and work on the writing assignment.
4) 0129 Read two of the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman.. Not sure if graphic novels count, but the plot and storyline are amazing, as is the characterization of this series. Also, reading the forewords and afterwords of the two was interesting, what he felt about his writing, about going back and looking at his writing, and the process of creation. Basically about an hour and a half on the two. Minor distractions throughout.
5) Going to try to plug in some time tomorrow morning (well, i have to) for the writing assignment. Have a rough draft/idea that needs to be fleshed out and worked on from the postcard writing prompt.
Just from the talk today we had in class, about calling yourself a writer and when that is proper, and also about blogging your writing, or at least writing consistently.. found this while stumbling around… actually, been finding more than a few good writing resources online, and maybe i’ll actually start going through them. we’ll see. Decided to post this one up though.. it seemed to fit.

2) Finish the writing assignment, cuz i was stupid and left the notebook with the drafts of it in my dorm all weekend. Working until that is all done.

Started the front page, need to type up the poems and print them out. but realized i kept getting distracted (just finished a pretty interesting article on drunken boxing and push hands, but thats not helping me write or have anything to do with what i needed to be doing.. urgh) i think it’s nap time.

Typed up posthumously the next day. Did do all the questions in my notebook before i started writing, so basically am just typing it into the blog.

2) Plan is that I’m here and waiting for people to sober up.. yeah.. college, drinking happens. I’m being truthful in this. So, waiting for my friend to sober up. Planning on letting her sleep for about forty five minutes and see if that helps, so i figure i may as well attempt writing while i wait. Or i can play the stare at the page game..
3) Probably free write as my works in progess for the short assignment this week are in my other notebook in my dorm. May be distracted. Drunkards abound. Well, only one that’s not trying to sleep, but he talks alot..
4) 0450 Went over a bit the original plan, decided she could use some more sleep. Actually did finish (shitty first draft finish) two pieces after doodling all over one page. Two poems, Confusion and The Playground. Fairly short pieces. Confusion may be worked into something quite a bit longer and more detailed. Not sure how I feel about Playground as of yet. Will let both pieces lay at least till tomorrow before messing with them anymore.
5) Next time… not quite sure. Haven’t been too good about this part but uh… after colorguard practice? Around six if I don’t fall asleep. Time to go wake her up.. and great, the guy fell asleep to…
~yeah, apparently i didn’t write after practice, but it is now after practice, and at least i’m getting this typed in. it’s just ridiculous now as i’m leaving for competition in new orleans tomorrow, so things are.. hectic.. but hey! there’s a six something hour bus trip tomorrow. will definitely write during that, if only to save myself

4) 0433 Yeah.. wrote productively for about an hour then gave up on it. Too many people around me in a small area and we just put on robin hood men in tights. Hope is lost.
5) Read the assignments. Worked on Bed short assignment. Not exactly going where I planned for it to go, will finish working on it when I get back to my dorm.
6) Well, since I need to finish the assignment, I suppose the next time I work will be when I get back to my room. Should be around six or seven.
